In our first week of Advent this year, I offer you a little bit Spiritual Direction, a little bit Gospel... and a whole lot of God's Presence and Hope in this sermon, preached at Mestizo Community Church in Providence, Rhode Island (my home church), on December 3, 2023. I offer a couple of different spiritual practices that can help on a daily basis prepare our hearts and become more present in God's Presence. We also discuss some characteristics of Mary that make her an Unlikely Saint, and take a look at our own emotions, reflected in her story, and how God meets us where we are.
